KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 9): Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Huawei Malaysia) and cashless payment solutions provider Revenue Group Bhd have teamed up to develop an e-services hub, focusing on small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
In a joint statement today, the firms said Revenue’s unit Revenue Safe Nets Sdn Bhd had recently signed a memorandum of agreement with Huawei Malaysia.
The main aim of the collaboration is to build an ecosystem to develop digital innovations through which both parties can help over 900,000 SMEs in Malaysia move towards digital transformation and effectively boost their presence in the market.
Revenue and Huawei Malaysia said they see an urgent need to empower SMEs to adopt digital applications and software that will bring their businesses to the next level, digitally.
In order to achieve these objectives, Revenue and Huawei Malaysia will leverage digital innovation platforms which both parties will jointly develop using Huawei’s cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
Revenue managing director and group chief executive officer Datuk Eddie Ng Chee Siong said that through the partnership, Revenue and Huawei Malaysia will build and implement cloud and AI-based innovations.
“The e-services hub which we will jointly build using Huawei’s cloud and AI technologies will be most helpful for independent software vendors (ISVs) and app developers, as well as for the entire ecosystem, to boost our country’s digital economy,” he said.
Meanwhile, Huawei Malaysia vice president of cloud and AI, Lim Chee Siong, said that by tapping on Huawei’s deep expertise and in-depth knowledge in cloud and AI technologies, both parties will be able to not only develop effective innovative solutions, but also build a thriving ecosystem to help SMEs grow and transform digitally.
“Huawei is committed towards developing creative solutions to fulfil technology gaps in the country, and to be a catalyst for Malaysia’s digital economic growth,” Lim said.
The e-services hub will see the integration of Revenue’s in-house service innovation platform and Huawei’s cloud and AI technologies, and will target SMEs as well as Huawei’s channel partners in Malaysia.
At 11.12am, Revenue fell 2.5% or 3 sen to RM1.17, for a market capitalisation of RM461.93 million.
